Part 5 – Videos and photographs
The purpose of this post is to present additional photographs and videos of the sampling leading up to my final prototype/maquette. They have specifically been produced to aid my tutor’s understanding of the work, which is too large and delicate to send by post.
Videos
The video form a series which chronicle the development of samples to the final prototype/maquette.
The first video in the series talks a little about the lead up to the work then discusses sample 9:

All the photos are additional to those contained in the main blog and are included to show the sample in different ambient lighting conditions and orientations.
Sample 9:
The two photos below were taken on 11 July at 19:30hrs in the garden, when the sun was low in the sky. The sample is West-facing.

Oh Nicola this is a stunning development. I loved all that samples and I am awe of how you have taken the work of the other artist and made this you own. Well done. I wish you the best of luck with assessment. The videos are a good solution for assessment.!

Thank you so much Inger. You don’t how much it means to have some encouraging feedback after all the work I’ve put into this assignment! The videos were suggested by my tutor. I was suprised at just how much they added to the understanding of the pieces. In video 3, for example, I found myself touching and scrunching the sample. Before, I hadn’t realised just how tactile it was and it gave me the idea of an installation could be used interactively as it is a bit like walking on Autumn leaves!
